CORWINE
This building went through a radical transformation from a one-story unoccupied warehouse to a LEED Platinum certified home. The design intent from the start was to keep the building’s original character by preserving the brick and steel structure.

A simple repetition of the shed roof reflects the character of this historic neighborhood and creates a modern sawtooth profile, visible both inside and out.
Modern forms intermingle with original brick and steel structures, as well as historically-inspired finishes.
It took creativity to bring light into the interior spaces, including several skylights and a light well that allows the sunlight to reach the main floor.
This photograph captures the state of the original building. Many of the elements of the warehouse, including the original brick and steel structure were preserved.
